Many “emotional eaters” realize that they have spent a lifetime
dieting,
without success.
And they have had enough.
Weight gain can be caused by major life transitions, or situations
of continued
stress when food is seen as a source of comfort.
But when eating gets out of control, food quickly becomes the enemy.
We see
it as the source of our unhappiness when, in fact,
it is a symptom of our
emotional distress.
I work with clients to discover what triggers this “emotional eating.”
Together
we find ways to help deal with stress without food,
to improve eating habits,
and to substitute positive ways of coping.
