Why are we compelled to do what we do?
To think the way we think?
Feel the way we feel?
If our “gut reactions” are causing us pain, and hurting our relationships,
then we have a problem.
The problem will show up in different ways: anxiety or depression; feelings of rage or emptiness; abuse of our bodies. All of which can lead to career and relationship difficulties.
Those same “gut reactions” that get us in trouble often stem from ways of coping that we learned a very young age. At the time, they protected us. Now, they can hold us back.
I work with individuals and couples to help them with the issues that stand between them and a healthier, happier life.
By identifying why we react in harmful ways, we have a chance to change. In being willing to take on the emotional work involved, we can reclaim a balanced perspective on our lives.
